Role Model Cambridge Concert reviews
Why did Tears for Fears open? =(
I snagged tickets for Tears for Fears for my anniversary and kept it a surprise, excitedly. I was looking for the only U.S. performance event they were scheduled to do. I assumed Tears for Fears were a headliner because they were highlighted at the top of all their ads and articles. They didn't have the lineup published on the iHeart Radio site, so I kept checking to plan when to arrive perfectly. Usually concerts are never on time, I thought Tears for Fears wouldn't be first. The day of the event, we had to attend a funeral in Orange County, so we couldn't get to the venue right as doors opened. When we arrived, the main lot was full, and parking was $25 in the adjacent lot. We only had $20 on us, assuming parking wouldn't be more than $20. We had to find an ATM, while looking for one, I searched the web again to see if they had released the actual lineup, they had not. I checked #tearsforfears on Instagram, and someone had posted a photo, they were the openers. They were already on stage, and we were two blocks away, my heart sank, disappointed. This concert was definitely running on time. We've never seen Tears for Fears, and this was one of those dream come true moments for us, and we missed it. I found out Monday morning iHeart Radio had sent an email the day of the concert saying Tears for Fears was opening. I didn't check my emails on the weekend, and I had the electronic tickets in my Wallet app, so I didn't think to look in my email. There was no announcement in the app on my tickets. I felt so stupid. Obviously, the venue isn't responsible for us running late because of a funeral, but my disappointment is that their site didn't disclose the lineup, so I could've planned differently. We only caught 2 1/2 Tears for Fears songs by the time we got inside. I hope that venues might take my experience into consideration when advertising these events because I'm sure many people plan special events around the bands they love. If I get another chance, I'd definitely come back and see Tears for Fears again. I'll camp out in the parking lot all day to be on time.
